About this book
Computing education meets quantum computing
Section titled “Computing education meets quantum computing”This textbook is created by Dr. Charith Jayasekara, a lecturer in Monash University’s Faculty of Information Technology, working in computing education and quantum computing.
The purpose is simple: make a difficult subject easier to enter without losing its mathematical precision. Readers build intuition, test predictions and learn to make evidence-based claims.
Designed for curious learners
Section titled “Designed for curious learners”Clear explanations, worked calculations and hands-on experiments support self-paced study, teaching and research. Start with the foundations or explore a specialist pathway that matches your interests.
Source material and editorial status
Section titled “Source material and editorial status”The first source is the author’s Introduction to Quantum Computing, dated 11 April 2026. The reading edition retains every section, table, seven original illustrations and bibliography, with a documented update to the RSA resource example using 2025 and 2026 primary research. The original source document remains unchanged. The guided lessons provide additional explanations, worked examples and practice.
The textbook is organised into a 170-chapter catalogue and a 40-experiment roadmap. The current reading library contains 26 foundation lessons, 40 algorithm chapters and 30 atlas topics, with diagrams, self-checks and worked practice answers. Programming, security and advanced research volumes continue to develop, with availability shown in the catalogue.
The notes contain dated roadmap forecasts and simplified analogies. The reading edition identifies their context and dates substantive scientific updates. Resource estimates are presented with assumptions and should be distinguished from completed hardware demonstrations.
Privacy and access
Section titled “Privacy and access”The book is free to read and requires no account. There are no advertising scripts or third-party analytics. Optional reading progress and theme preferences stay in your browser. Fonts, equations, search assets and PDFs are hosted with the site. Hosting providers may process ordinary web request logs under their own policies.
